Semper Fi! Yes, Trip-Trey (VMFA-333) was a Marine Air Wing squadron - currently de-activated. The squadron servered abaord the America during the period of 1972 & 73. I joined upon their return to the states (Beaufort S.C.) - while serving in the Tonking Gulf, Maj. Lee Lasseter & RIO Capt. John Cummings became the only "all Marine" crew to shot down a MIG over North Viet Nam. Lasseter eventually became the C.O. of Trip Trey.

I served 73 - 77, all in Trip-Trey. Spend a few years abord the Nimitz on numerous mini cruises (Gitmo, Rosey Roads), then a NATO Cruise to the North Atlantic, then later on a MED Cruise.

    Good talking withh you Marine!

    Semper Fi!
